This year is one of the driest years in the state of Maharashtra has faced water levels in reservoirs hitting a low of all time. But the most affected were farmers confronted with a critical shortage of usable water. Now, after Nana Patekar showing their support for affected farmers, we are told that the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has decided to leave the pitch.
In fact, Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 50 lakhs to the Jalyukt Shiver Abhiyan, one by the government of Maharashtra, which aims to test peoples to drought by developing water harvesting techniques, such as building ponds. Interestingly, this is not the first cause Akshay had supported, as, in the past, the actor had come forward to help people in difficulty state when donated Rs 90 lakhs to the families of 180 farmers who had committed suicide.
Besides Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan had also expressed his support when he visited two villages in Bid, Maharashtra, along with the NGO Pain Foundation. There, the actor had decided adopted two parched villages.
